RadiantGrid™ Platform

Tapeless Workflow

By design, our model for workflow mimics the digital production workflow of many types of media companies, publishing companies, as well as other verticals that require media management (insurance, government, medical, etc.) Our tapeless workflow allows for faster-than-realtime transcoding, via grid-enabled transcoding, as well as batch-oriented media assembly via user-created templates.

As part of this workflow, digital ingestion covers all forms of content getting into the asset storage repository; commonly this means copying digital files into the storage management system, parsing the content for metadata, and/or applying metadata templates to incoming content. It also covers the ingestion of content from stream-based sources, such as MPEG Transport Stream or HD-SDI feeds. Via the RadiantGrid Platform, we can manage the content workflow from the mastering process (i.e. content creation process) all the way through to the distribution.

Benefits

When content is ingested, it is routed to the workflow management service for indexing, tagging, mezzanine and thumbnail generation. Because of our flexible architecture, new technologies such as watermarking or fingerprinting can be enabled quickly and easily without affecting the rest of the system.

We offer functionality to users called ‘no‐click transcoding’ where content can be automatically routed through the stages of the workflow, from applying metadata templates upon ingestion, thru watermark creation, thru transcoding, thru the application of DRM, thru distribution.

Users set up default profiles for each stage of the workflow, the processing jobs are automatically generated, and the user gets notified when any/all of the stages are complete. This allows for a hands‐off model of media processing, and tight integration with other post-production, editing and content management systems.
