In conjunction with the multitrack assembly modules, RadiantGrid enables robust surround and multichannel audio management. During the ingestion process, a mezzanine audio file is generated which provides a generic PCM multichannel audio source for further transcodes. This removes the complications of working with multichannel audio in various container formats, stream layouts, and source codecs.
RadiantGrid has partnered with Linear Acoustic to offer an industry-leading solution for ITU BS.1770-compliant loudness correction via AEROMAX processing. RadiantGrid also has enabled multichannel upmixing using Linear Acoustic’s upMAX proprietary algorithm. Unique in this solution, RadiantGrid has enabled Linear Acoustic’s technology in a tapeless workflow, which is seamlessly integrated with the rest of the RadiantGrid Platform.
The multitrack assembly module builds on this structure, and supports the independent assignment, layout and mixing of each mono audio channel.
This gives the RadiantGrid Platform the maximum flexibility when dealing with multiple language audio tracks, mismatching number of audio channels when assembling files, and when having to up or down-mix the number of audio channels into the transcoded output file.
In addition, RadiantGrid has integrated with the Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer, and supports the decoding of Dolby E audio tracks, stored in GXF containers. Via integration with the DP600, RadiantGrid also supports encoding to stereo and multichannel BWAV and AC3 2.0 and 5.1 from the Dolby E source, as well as applying the many audio normalization and adjustment features offered by the DP600.
